Getting there

Flying

The closest airport is San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP), just 10–15 minutes from downtown and most hotels. SBP offers daily flights from major hubs including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, and Dallas, making it a convenient option for guests traveling nationally or internationally.

For more flight availability, you can also fly into:

  • Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) – about 1.5 hours south along Highway 101

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – roughly a 3.5–4 hour drive (or an easy connection to SBP)

Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available at all airports.

Taking the Train

For a scenic coastal experience, Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner runs from San Diego through Los Angeles up to San Luis Obispo. It’s one of the most beautiful train routes in the country, with ocean views for much of the ride. The SLO station is centrally located, and most hotels are just a short rideshare away.

Driving

San Luis Obispo is located right off Highway 101, making it an easy drive from anywhere in the country. If you’re coming in along Highway 1, you’ll enjoy some of the most breathtaking coastline in the state (plan extra time for photo stops!).

Getting Around

SLO is walkable, friendly, and easy to navigate. Most guests will rely on walking, Uber/Lyft, or quick drives between hotels and venues. Rental cars are available at all nearby airports, but not required unless you’d like to explore wine country, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, or the surrounding towns.
